Gymnastics

Courtesy of Oma we finally have a few gymnastics pictures...and just in time to as gymnastics is over until the Air Force fixes the gym so it meets fire safety codes (there's really not anything wrong with the gym but now the doors aren't wide enough...whatever) So anyways, hopefully gymnastics will start up again before we move. Kaden walked on the balance beam by himself  for the first time while Oma was here...you would've thought the child just won the Olympics the way we were hooping and hollering! We were so excited. Kaden has been TERRIFIED of walking on the balance beam for the last several months and he's just now starting to overcome that fear (just as gymnastics is cancelled for a while! ). We are so proud of him, and he's just so sweet about it. When he got up there to try for the first time Ms. Jamie (who we absolutely love) said, "Are you ready to walk on the beam, Kaden" and he looked at her so seriously and said, "Well, there's a first time for everything." :) And then he stood of the beam for literally 5 min before he took his first step and just kept saying, "I'm shaking, why are my legs shaking!" So sweet...but he did it and we couldn't be more proud!

Fun with Oma

We had such a good time with Matt's mom last week...I'm just going to try and pick the "highlight" photos. Oma spoiled all of us, especially mommy who got a 5 day break! The boys love their Oma and when Oma's around mommy is second choice! :) Oma was so busy playing with the boys that we don't have many pictures of her with the boys! I'm still not very good at remember to take pictures! Oh well, we have the memories. We got the pool out for the summer while Oma was here and finally filled the sandbox with sand (we've only had the sand box for a year and a half!). So we spent most or our time outside playing.  When it was time for quiet Oma bought Kaden a book on the human body...we figured if he could memorize all those Transformers then he could learn about the body and at least that's educational! :) Our little doctor in training! One day, we even went to the unveiling of a historical marker honoring men that flew out of Laughlin Air Force Base during the Cuban missile crises. We got autographs from the pilots and everything! Very cool. That's a very quick summary of the week...Enjoy the pictures.

Cubbies

Well, we've had a non-stop fun weekend with Oma, but before we get to those pictures I thought I'd put of the ones from last Wednesday. Wednesday night was the last night of AWANA and Kaden received his first book award. We are so proud of him and all the hard work he put into memorizing his verses over the last year. Thank you, Lord, for the words being hidden in his heart may the always guide his life!

Stretching

Saturday after I came home from my run one of my favorite little running partners came out to stretch with me. I love when Caleb and Kaden come stretch with me after a run. I love that in these pictures you can really seem him doing some of the stretches. So cute! And the reason my shirt is see-through is it was POURING rain for part of our run, oh well, it was still fun and since we don't get much rain in Del Rio it was also very exciting.
The weekend flew by and the week is almost half over already! Matt's mom comes on Thursday for the long weekend so I'm sure we'll have lots of fun pictures. Hope your week is going well too. Jesus loves you.
PS. If you all think of it please pray for Matt and I to have wisdom as we walk through selling our house. It's not up on the market yet but we've already had one offer and now we need to work out the price with them or get it up on the market.  Please just pray that we will have God's wisdom to know what to do. Thanks!

Potty Time

Just a couple of pictures of Caleb's first time on the potty! :) He's just getting into this phase where he says he has to go potty and then sits up there. He doesn't actually go but it makes him happy to sit up there and at least he's getting used to the whole idea...I don't think I could go either with both Kaden and mommy watching! :)
Not much else picture worthy going on this weekend. I got to run with my marathon partner just for fun...in the rain, but still a fun time! We had lunch out as a family and then tonight I'm going to go work at the Herald (the high class restaurant in town) for my brother Chris for a couple of hours. I'm just going to help host since it's prom night and they're booked. I just think its fun to watch all the girl's in their pretty dresses. Then later tonight Matt has a squadron party and we have a grad party to go to so a busy but low key Saturday. Sunday, Kaden is having his Sunday School teachers over for lunch and he's so excited so should be a fun time. Hope you all have a good weekend too! Jesus loves you.

31st Birthday

We celebrated Matt's birthday on Sunday by opening presents with the family and then heading to Chili's to eat with the family and the teens. It was a fun time even if we were at the restaurant for over two hours! The boys did great and as soon as we got home we did cake so the boys could get a bath and get to bed. Some of the teens stayed for a while and we played Trivial Pursuit...now thats a 31st birthday...dinner at Chili's and Trivial Pursuit!

Air Show

Saturday  was the Amistad Air Show 2008 a very hot, very full day of airplanes.  (It was also Matt's birthday but due to the air show we're celebrating that later today so those pictures to follow) We arrived at the air show at about 10:30 (we being myself, the boys, and mom, dad, and Jeremy-Chirs was at work. Matt had been working the air show since about 7 that morning) and started looking at all the old planes first. That was a very exciting 10 minuets until they kicked us out so they could get them prepped to fly. So we wandered over to the air planes we could climb around in. Kaden was so excited to find potties in some of the airplanes! Very cool. By the time we wandered all the way down the runway mom and dad and Jeremy found a shaded spot under the wing of a C-130 and camped out while the boys and I went to check out the BIG planes. Note that by this time it's like 95 outside. Kaden was very excited to climb around in a KC-135 (Matt's old airplane) and get to see what daddy used to do (yes it has a potty too!) but the AC wasn't on and it was SO hot so we didn't stay long. At about noon we setteled down in the shade and got some really expensive $3 a slice pizza, very yummy. After lunch we let the boys pick out a toy airplane and hit the bouncy castle. By this time it was like 100 outside. We wandered around a bit more but just mostly hung out waiting for the Thunderbird show. Well except for the 20 min. I spent running around trying to find icecream without nuts and finally settled on shaved ice! By the time the Thunderbirds started at 3 it was literally 106 outside but the show was worth it (well don't ask Jeremy if it was worth it cause he was ready to go home after like 2 hours!) We were so ready to go home and sit in the AC for a while. Poor Matt had to stay until after 9 last night cleaning up (he did get to go to a grad party, but then right back to work) Caleb did so well without a nap but did fall asleep sitting strait up on the couch while mommy took a shower! Kaden really enjoyed the whole day especially since in his mind all the airplanes and helicopters were transformers! And yes, in the last picture my back is a bright pink...The spray sunscreen works really really well...if you spray it all over! I have a great white spot on  my back where there is sunscreen and the rest of me is very very pink! Anyways, enjoy the pictures! Hope you had a great weekend!
