Pool Fun

The kiddos were so cute today playing in the pool I had to drag out the old camera to take some pictures. Kaden's big on sun not shining in his eyes, and water not getting into his eyes so we decided he should wear his sunglasses into the pool. Not that they offered much protection but they work kind of like a bandaid...you put it on cause it makes it feel better, blood or no blood. So anyways, once Kaden put his on Anthony and Caitlyn wanted theirs too. It just makes me happy to see them having so much fun...reminds me of playing in the pool with Bethany andAmee when we were little!

The other pool pictures are of big boys having fun in the pool. There was a squadron cardboard boat race on base the other day...yes they do work most of the time but they have to play too. So Matt and his buddy (Matt is the one in the flightsuit squating down by the boat...isn't he cute) fashioned the boat completley out of cardboard and duct tape and they won! I was so proud of them! Boys never grow up! :)

In other news, Caleb is getting closer to walking he's starting to stand by himself and will take a few falling/walking steps toward you... I'll keep you posted :) Get it posted...literally posted cause its a post it's not just a figure of speech...ok never mind...maybe its time for Matt to get back! :)

Tuesday night

As much as I miss Matt when we are apart...it's good to miss him. Does that make sense. I'm glad that I still miss him, but I would never know that unles we were apart...and sometimes it's good just to have some quiet time. Take tonight for instance. I got the boys into bed, watered the flowers out front, finished my cleaning for the day, and now I'm typing to you all listening to Christmas music (it's an AWESOME cd made by some of our friends in North Dakota...very soothing and worshipful...if that's a word), and eating a cinnamon roll...things I don't generally do when Matt's around! :) Just a peacful night. It feels like a soothing balm on my spirit. Just quiet and peacful and though the trials and demands and questions haven't dissapeared, they no longer feel important. God is on His throne and in control, and I need to just sit at His feet. On the rare ocassion that I sit still it is amazing what the Lord can speak into my heart. The picture I got for our blue wall has this verse on it, "Be still and know that I am God." Not my favorite verse cause I'm not very good at being still, but a reminder that I need all the time. When the demands and worries and sorrows of this world begin to crowd in I need to be still and Know that He is GOD. Things seem to fade into the distance when I remember that.
Matt and the teens are having a great week at camp so far so that is a praise. They had "date night" tonight so I'm anxious to see how that goes...as far as I understand it all the guys have to randomly pick the name of any girl in the camp and take her to dinner...the kicker being the ages range from just going into 7th grade all the way to first year of college! So you could have a senior with an 8th grader. I'm anxious to see how the kids faired. :)
The boys and I had a good day too. We were at church all morning working on VBS prep, then we "swam" in our pool, and then we had a birthday party to go to this evening. Oh and I mowed the lawn and cleaned a bit. All in all a good day...despite Kaden waking up really really early cause Matt forgot to turn his alarm off and it woke Kaden up.
Ok, so can you tell that there's no one around to talk to! :) Thanks for listening. Have a great evening, and remember who is in control! Jesus loves you

He's Graduated

Well, Chris graduated on Friday and has now entered the world of adults...or something like that. :) It was a beautiful ceremony and actually really emotional. We're just so proud of him...even if he did dye his hair bright yellow the next day! No pictures of that but thought you all might want to see the pictures of the graduation... and even if you don't here they are! (I'm blaming the blurriness on Kaden who wouldn't sit still on my lap!)
Our weekend was preety much full of graduation activies, so here I am on a
Sunday night wondering where the weekend has gone and facing the next week as a single parent! Matt is taking the youth group up to summer camp...which I wanted to go to as well, but opted out since the thought of two young children at a summer camp for teens did not sound like very much fun! So I'm not sure what we'll do all week...well we have VBS prep so I'm sure we'll stay busy. Tomorrow I may be bored out of my mind since Matt is gone, my dad and Jeremy are taking Granny (my grandma) to Auston, Chris is going to camp, and mom is working...and it's a holiday so everyone else is with their hubbies...ok that's my one pity party moment, I'm through now. Actually, I'm kinda looking forward to the day with just the boys, we'll try to hit the park or something. But there won't be any pictures since Matt is taking the camera to camp! I guess it technically is his camera so I can't be to upset! :) I may have to dig out the video camera and use that one if something cute happens! :) Speaking of pictures, sorry the pictures are out of order on the blog, I wasn't paying attention to how I put them up there. Anyways, have a great Memorial Day everyone...hug someone in the serivce! Jesus loves you.

Catch up

Here are some pictures from the weekend. Chris had his senior prom and took his friend Noel. Aren't they cute! It still blows me away that Chris is going to prom...and graduating on Friday! Makes me feel so old...seems like my highschool graduation shouldn't have been that long ago! :)

Then there's picture of Kaden with underwear on his head...everyone needs pictures like that! :) Monday we went to SanAntonio to pick up my Grandma (who came in for Chris' graudation) and I got to go to Starbucks!!!! Thanks Dad! :) I also got to buy some new running shoes and running stuff, and I found a picture for the house to go on the blue wall, so all in all a swell day!

And now it's way way way past my bedtime so I can't think of anything else interesting to say! :)

Number 100!!!

This is my 100th blog! How exciting is that! We should celebrate with ice cream or something! :) Everyone go have some ice cream and think of me! :)
Actually, I just wanted to get on here and post some nine month pictures of Caleb. I realized today when I took him for his nine month check up that I had forgotten to take any pictures of him. Well, I did get some nice pictures done but I haven't gotten those all ordered yet. So anyways, here are some pictures of Caleb at nine and half months. He was 21 lbs and 1 oz and 29 1/4 in. today. We're praising the Lord for his good health, that's something I never want to take for granted. Let's see what is Caleb into these days...His absolute favorite thing to do is walk holding onto someones fingers. He hasn't figured out cruising by himself or standing but I'm sure that will come soon. If he can't walk he amuses himself by army crawling, or as we call it inch worming, himself around the house...to wherever I am...to sit at my feet and fuss! :) No, really he's a happy baby and such a good boy. We fall more in love with him each day.
The rest of us are doing good too..it's almsot the weekend yeah! Everyone enjoy and don't worry blog 101 is soon to follow! :)

Of course

Well, of course I forgot my camera today for Kaden's end of the year carnival. Why would I remember...that would be "on top of things" and lately that has not been my motto! :) Oh well. We did have fun even if we can't document it! Kaden got a snake painted on his arm, jumped in the bouncy castle, and played games to win lots and lots of cheap little prizes that now we have to do something with! :) Now we're ready for summer and I'm sure each day will fill itself up. Hope you all are having a good day too.
Jesus loves you.

Silly face

Just the normal happenings this week, so not much to write about. Kaden does have his end of the year carnival tomorrow and I will attempt to remember my camera in which case I will have more pictures tomorrow...but until then just thought I would say hi and post a funny picture of Kaden posing for a mothers day gift! :) Hope your week is uneventful too!:)

Just to say...

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all the mommys out there! Love you!

Birthday Pictures

Here are some pictures from Matt's birthday. We had a late party...we opened gifts (Kaden did really well until Matt started taking to long and then he started telling him what was in each gift and opening it for him!) and then went to dinner at one of the nicer restaurants in town, then back home for some pie. Sorry the pictures are a bit dark and blurry, I'm not sure what happened. Friday we went and got Matt his bike for his birthday, he's very excited about it and I borrowed Mom's bike so we could go for a ride. It was so much fun...now I'll have to get one too! The birthday quote from Kaden is this... Mommy-"Kaden, do you know how old daddy is going to be? He's going to be 30 that's really old!" , Kaden (with tears welling up in his eyes), "But I don't want daddy to be old, then he won't be new anymore!" :)

Other then fun birthday party, it's a preety normal weekend. Matt took Friday off which was awesome so today (Saturday) we're doing house stuff and tomorrow we're having some friends over for one last Happy Birthday party. Wish you all could come!

Matt's 30!!!

Today is Matt's birthday and he's turning 30! He he he! That makes me laugh...I've still got 3 years and 1 month to go in my 20s! :) Just thought I'd share. We're going out tonight with the family so I'll make sure to get some pictures. Have a great day!

Bulls and boys

Hope everyone had a good weekend. We did down in Del Rio. Saturday we went to the Rodeo...technically it was just bull riding but for simplicity sake we'll call it a Rodeo. It was alot of fun...I felt a little out of place since I don't own a pair of boots or a cowboy hat or tight jeans, but fun none the less. Only one Cowboy out of 45 got kicked in the head so I guess that makes for a good night! Yeah, those people are crazy and of course now Jeremy (my brother) is signed up to try riding...crazy. Of course I forgot my camera so you'll just have to imagine Kaden in a straw cowboy hat dancing like crazy to the music and cowboys flying through the air as they get bucked of an angry bull!
The pictures are from yesterday and today. I walked out of my room yesterday to find that Kaden had caught Caleb in the laundry basket...I think he was trying to make him a turtle or something. :) And Kaden's new fashion trend is army (camo) everything (underwear to if he can) so I found so cheap army stuff at Walmart to Kaden and Caleb could match. And the first picture is from this morning. We watched two boys for a friend and another friend came over with her son so this is the one shot of them sitting still watching Superman (what else!)
Hope you all have a great start to your week! God is on His throne, keep your hope in Him.
Jesus loves you

Kissing at Walmart

So my new question for people is, "Have you been kissed at Walmart today!" I went to Walmart on Thursday and was looking for the Q-tips and so had stopped the cart to look around. An old Hispanic Grandmother came up and began touching, blessing Caleb (This happens all the time as fair hair and eyes are preety uncommon down here.) She then turned and grabbed my face and said something in Spanish and kissed me on the cheek! She then went back to touching the baby. When she was done she walked away and I just kind of stood there not sure of why she had kissed me but it was very sweet anyways! Just thought I'd share my Del Rio Walmart story.

Random Pictures

My turn to post random pictures of the boys. There are some of Caleb and Kaden crawling together, and the others are from Sunday. The boys were so cute in their Hawaiin shirts but of course I couldn't get them to pose so these are the best I got.
