Running

I'm not sure who will read this before 6:40 in the morning but that is when I'll be starting my 13 mile run that just got bumped to 14! I'm excited and confident that with the Lord's help that I'll be able to finish it...it's kind of overwelming to think that's only half the marathon...but the Lord only promises the strength to finish the tasks of today...not the ones of tomorrow until tomorrow. All that to say, any and all prayers are appreciated! Thanks...and I'll let you know how I do!

Update on boys

Well lets see...our two big updates for the day. Caleb has been bottle and formula free for over 24 hours now! Very exciting, I've been so ready to move beyond that stage...and yet there was just a wee moment of saddness cause it was like my baby grew up. Sigh.
Kaden went to the dentist today and it was a disaster...to put it mildly. Oma if your reading this picture something like trying to get his haircut! :) For some reason, Kaden is at a stage where he is terrified of anything around his face i.e. haircuts or the dentist. Not so much fun for anyone involved today. But hey...we'll just try in six more months!
So that's our update for the day.

Lil' Cowboy

We were cleaning up Kaden's room today and before I put the cowboy hat away, I thought I'd try it on Caleb's head...he was just the cutest thing but getting him to keep it on his head was a feat in and of itself. So these are the best pictures we could get...but he still looks preety cute. And there's a picture of Kaden's silly face just for good measure!

Movie Time

Well, we had yet another quiet weekend...and by quite I am not referring to the two children that God has blesses us with who do not know the meaning of quiet! :) Saturday, I had my usual run (12 miles this week and 13 next weekend!) which was great and then Matt was off on his bike ride/tour of Del Rio. Then we all headed to the pool for fun time and the base bowling alley for lunch (they have the best food!) After that it was nap time for the boys and the rest of that evening is a blur...so on to Sunday. Sunday was church and then dinner at Mom's house ( I LOVE dinner at Mom's house!) and then Sunday night we try to have family movie night...which brings me to the pictures. I love the contrast between how Kaden and Matt watch movies and how Caleb and I watch movies! This weeks selection was Finding Nemo (guess what...they found him) and Matt and Kaden really enjoyed watching the movie. Caleb would give the movie a passing glance but was much more content to play on the floor and climb all over our legs...just like his mommy who also has a hard time sitting still for very long! Just wanted to note the differences! :) Hope you had a great weekend too!

Birthday present

Caleb recieved his birthday present from his Aunt Linda and Uncle Eric today and the boys now have a new favorite toy! They have had so much fun getting on and off (well Caleb anyway cause Kaden is to big!) and pushing buttons, and dancing to the music it plays, and putting things in and out of the seat! We can now highly recommend this toy! Although one word of warning, older siblings fingers may get smashed in the seat if he tries to open it while younger brother is sitting on it! :) Thanks Aunt Linda!

Goofy

Just thought I'd share a picture of Kaden and his best bud Anthony being goofy. They have nets on their heads from the Elefun game. (the elephant blows butterflies up in the air and you try to catch them.)
And in other exciting news. Caleb has a new word! He now says "Car" but it comes out more like, "gar, gar" :)

Weekend

I hope everyone had a good weekend. We just enjoyed some family time this weekend which was great. We went to the lake on Sunday and took the boys swimming. A couple times I said, "Man I wish we'd brought the camera down with us." Only to find out after we had dressed the boys and walked up to the park that Matt had brought the camera down with us! Oh well...I'll just have to describe the picture to you. One, Caleb in his floaty bathing suit. It's a full body bathing suit with floaties on the inside of the front and back...ok so I'm not describing this very well, but he looked so cute in it. Two, Kaden (who isn't swimming yet on his own) with two swim tubes around his waist. He looked like one of those ring stacking toys that babys play with. Sorry no picture! Blame it on lack of communication! The pictures I did take are of the boys doing their favorite thing in the park...playing in the rocks. We tried to get a picture of Caleb laying down in the rocks "swimming" but he always got up before we could snap it. Anyways, a fun family day!

Playtime

Sorry it's been a while since I posted...can't really say we've been overly busy just not much going beyond the usual...which has actually been nice for a change. I snapped these pictures of the boys playing together in Kaden's room and in the bath. Caleb got a big boy chair for his birthday and he loves to sit in it next to Kaden. He's so cute climbing into it. He has to get one knee in it and then kind of slide his bottom in. Usually, he ends up toppeling over which is really funny, but he's getting better all the time.

I couldn't resist taking the bath pictures. Caleb was so cute playing with this tupperware dish. He would put it on his head and over his face and just yell. I would love to know whats going through his head! And he loves to stand in the bath. Not the safest practice but it sure is hard to make him sit!

The boys just have so much fun being goofy together. I think the sound of their laughs is my favorite sound.

Birthday Boys

J

We celebrated two more birthday boys this week. Jeremy turned 17 on Tuesday and Dad turned older on Wednesday! :) I don't even have the words to express how blessed I feel to be living so close to mom and dad and the boys right now. It breaks my heart to think of moving again...but until then I'm just going to savor and treasure every moment we have. Especially the birthday moments! In our family, something terrible usually happens on a birthday but these two seemed to go off without anything going wrong so that was good. We just enjoyed awesome dinners (which I especially loved since Mom did the cooking!), presents (whick Kaden loved cause he got to help open all of them), and cake for Jeremy and pie for Dad (I did make the pie at least). As you can tell from the pictures...and I know there's a lot of them but you got to love all the different expressions everyones making (especially Jeremy) they just crack me up!

Weekend at Six Flags

On Saturday, we took the teens to Six Flags in San Antonio. All in all, a fun day, but I'm still tired and it's Monday! Kaden had a blast, as always, but we left Caleb with Grandma...didn't think he'd enjoy waiting in all the lines...it's hard enough for me to stand still that long! Highlights of the day, were the parade with all the characters and all the superheros (including Wonder Woman which Kaden was excited about!) and meeting Batman and Robin. Kaden is way into superheros so it was so fun to see them. He shook their hand but didn't want to get his picture taken with them...they are a bit intimidating! Oh, and here's the story of the day, we got into the park and say Batman and the Green Lantrun walking away so Matt grabs Kaden and we start running through the park screaming, "Batman! Wait Batman!" Yeah he didn't wait he just waived behind him (he was probably scared of the people chasing him!) Oh well, the things we do for our kids...and then of course later we saw them just standing there and we got to say hello without chasing them down! Anyways, just thought I'd share some pictures!
