Therapy

Well, we are having a fabulous time in Del Rio, Tx....despite the HEAT. I guess my body has truly adapted to California weather because the heat never used to bother me but I definitly notice how HOT it is now. Sweet Kesington just looks at me like she's asking, "Why...why am I so hot and sweaty?" :) However, it's worth the heat and more to get to be here with my family. What a shock/joy to watch Jeremy be a husband and father...still a little weirded out a bit, but he's doing an amazing job and has a wonderful family. Speaking of Jeremy and family, we decided to do a quick trip to McDonalds for dinner. I was sure it would bring back sweet memories for Kaden of all the fun playdates of the past and just be a good way to end the evening. What I did not anticipate is the years of therapy sessions we will be paying for in the future for Caleb!
We played, we sat down to eat, and Caleb notices the cardboard cut out of the Hamburlger (you know the little guy in a black and white striped hat and outfit that used to run around and steal the hamburgers from everyone and then Ronald would catch him and he would give them all back...Ok so maybe you had to be a kid in the 80's to remember him...but the point being he's a very non-threatening cartoon) Anyways, this is not the first time Caleb has seen him so when he asked who he was I said, "He's the Hamburglur he runs around and steals every ones hamburgers." Moving on, it's now time to play before we leave. Caleb follows Kaden up the McDonalds play set and starts SCREAMING in TERROR...I'm not talking, I'm scared there's a bug, I'm talking shaking, crying, screaming, I'm going to die screaming...enough that other parents were gathering under the slide in fear. I go climbing up the set, because he's so irrational at this point he can't even hear my voice. I climb up, rescue my screaming child, nestle him in my arms and discover that he is terrified of climbing through the tunnels because that is where the Hamburgler lives and is going to eat him!!! WHAT!!!! :) Sweet Baby, I'm not sure where he got that, but we will not be visiting the McDonald's playland for a while.
Well, it is now way past my bedtime...my body hasn't quite adjusted to the time change yet. I feel great at night cause 11 pm. is like 9 pm at home...but the mornings are killing me cause 6 am is 4 am!

Me and my girls
Happy Family

We have been so blessed to have an incredibly full summer that has been non-stop and isn't over! Monday through Friday last week we got to spend with Papa Van, Grandma Shawn, and the Massaros. It was fun to get all the cousins together and show off our little section of California, everything from the ocean to the red woods and a lot in between.
Then over the weekend we were so blessed to have Jedrix, Lisa, and our God-daughter Gracyn come up. The time is always way to short, but we treasure every moment and every memory...even the memory of three children banging as hard as they can on drums early on Saturday morning! :)
But wait the fun's not over...This Friday Kaden, Caleb, Kensington and I head to Del Rio, Tx for two weeks! WooHoo! Ok so maybe not so excited about being in temperatures over 100 every day, or taking three kids on an airplane by myself, but we are really excited to be with Dad and Mom and Chris, and Jeremy and Tracy and their sweet girls. I'll finally get to meet my niece. :)
So pray for us as God lays us on your hearts this next week...and I'll post from Texas! Yeehaw!

Under the Boardwalk

Happy Boy on the Horsey!
Everyone happy on the horsies!
Look what Kaden won!
Look what mommy got to carry!
Above the Boardwalk
Their favorite ride of the day, the Race Car ride..it flings you around the corner and they would just laugh and laugh.
Kensington and Daddy enjoying the lights
Jennie and Kaden...the world passing them by.

So these pictures aren't really from under the boardwalk...but it is the same boardwalk as the song...you know "Under the boardwalk...we'll be having some fun" Anyways, if you have facebook you've probably seen all these pictures since Matt beat me to it this time, but thought I'd throw some on the blog too. We had a great day with Jennie and she was so sweet to help take the boys on the rides. What a great big sister!
Hope you all are having a GREAT 4th of July. May God continue to have mercy on America and may we continue to stand for His Glory.

Beach Days

Ready for the beach
Sweet California Girl
Another Sweet California Girl
Beach Babes
That Splash is a dolphin
Rule 1: You can only scream outside...Caleb takes advantage of that rule whenever he can! :)
Happy beach boy

The best way to keep track of your kids is to bury them all in the sand!

Sadly, we sent Jennie on her way back to Texas today, but we did have a fabulous time and got some sweet beach time in. :) Now though it looks bright and sunny in these pictures, the highest the temperature ever got was in the high 70s and that's not considering the wind off the water...but that's about as warm as it gets on the central coast. Still we had a blast and once your legs go numb the waters really not so bad!
