Getting into the Christmas Spirit

Hello All,
Just wanted to put some pictures up of the tree and of Caleb in his stocking (thank you Jeremy for the huge stocking!) Every morning Kaden wakes up excited to see the tree, and then gushes for a good five minuets about how beautiful it is! What a blessing to see Christmas through his eyes. He's also getting very excited for his birthday! Mommy is too, who isn't excited about a Superman Birthday...I'm sure we'll have pictures of that for everyone too!
And just to keep you in the loop, I'm headed to the doctor tomorrow to find out why I've been sick off and on for the last three months...I'm actually praying it's mono or something, just so I know that I'm not crazy! So please pray that the doctors will have wisdom to know what's going on. Thanks!
Talk to you all again soon.

Zoo Pictures

Here's the pictures from the zoo...but keep scrolling down there's more!

Catch Up

Ok....so this is why I didn't want to start a blog in the first place...GUILT! I've been stressing out cause I haven't had time to get to the blog....and I know how popular we are and how everyone is just impatiently waiting and longing for our next set of pictures and my funny quips! :) So here's my excuse. Oma left on Tuesday, Wednesday our friends came down and we had Thanksgiving that night. Thursday we left with our friends to go to Abeline (check spelling) for a fun family/zoo/shopping weekend. So much fun! And for those of you who know me well, you will appreciate the fact that I got to go to Starbucks three times! :) So we got back late Saturday night...spent all day Sunday decorating for Christmas (one of my favorite day of the years) and today was....well it's almost over...so there you have it my reason for no blog updates and why I haven't returned any phone calls...Beth, I'm going to try to call you tomorrow!
Let's see if I can remember some of the highlights from this past week. Thanksgiving was good, and it really struck me again how much we have to be thankful for. I'm especially grateful for my children and their health. Everyday with them is a gift that I never want to take for granted. I'm also so thankful for friends that love me, despite of me, and tell me what I need to hear not what I want to hear. I'm so thankful for my family and being close to them during this season of life. And I"m thankful for my husband and his unending love. But most of all I'm thankful for the Lord Jesus Christ who gives me grace to begin each day anew, and chooses to love me and use me for His glory. Praise Jesus.
Highlights from the trip...the zoo was a blast, the closest I've ever been to some of the animals...and we got to feed the Giraffes! So cool! I think I enjoyed it more then the boys. I also got interviewed by the Abeline newspaper about why we weren't out shopping on "black Friday" (the name of the biggest shopping day of the year) so if you have a chance to pick up an addition of the Abeline paper I"m on page 7a at the bottom! :) Also, going to Target and a real mall...and starbucks...and real resteraunts! Wow...almost to much excitment for one weekend. Those of you who have been to Del Rio can appreciate why this is so exciting. :) And then probably the best moment of the week was watching Kaden's expression when he woke up from his nap and saw that the Christmas tree was up...so priceless.
Ok, enough rambling...if any of you are still reading this...I'm sorry! :) Have a great week and I'll try to update before next week...I can't bear the guilt! :) Jesus loves you!

Fun with Oma

Ok from the pictures it might look like all that the boys and Oma do is lie around, but in reality the only time I get a chance to snap a picture is when they sit still for a minute! They've been playing non-stop for three days now...makes mommy a little worried on how we'll be when Oma has to go home! :) We've just enjoyed every minute that we've had...and we're not done yet we still have one more day! I've really enjoyed the time cause the boys are so busy playing with Oma, I get free time too! In fact, the reason Kaden is making such a "mean" face in the one picture is he's "politely" telling me to leave so he can play with Oma!
Until next time....Have a great day! Jesus loves you

Oma comes to visit

Matt's mom, better known as Oma around our house, has come to visit! It's like Christmas come early Kaden is so excited...and Caleb is too, he just doesn't know it yet! I'm sure we'll have lots more pictures by the end of the weekend! Hope you all are having fun and staying warm wherever you are! It's in the 50's gets up to the 70-80's here...but that's cold for south Texas!

Six years and counting

Well, we've officially been married for six years! WOW, the time flies by! Each and every year has had it's joys and sorrows, trials and triumphs, and I've been so privleged to walk through them with Matt. Darling, I love you still more today then ever before.

Basketball and Bubbles

First a note to those of you are keeping up with the blog, I took of the house pictures for security reasons (thank you Julie), but if anyone wants to see them I'll send them to you via email...and now onto the pictures. Last night was Chris' first basketball game, incindently, it was also Kaden and Caleb's first basketball game (to watch not to play!) Both of them loved it, and most amusing was Kaden's running commentary. "Who are those black and white guys?" (the referees) "Those white guys took the ball from the green guys, they need to give it back!" "Go Chris!" "Defense" and anything else he heard the crown shouting! To cute and so much fun. Caleb aslo had a good time but mainly just drooled a lot! Which brings us to the bubbles. Caleb's new trick is blowing spit bubbles! He's so so proud of his new talent, and though he does soak through two or three outfits a day, it's so cute I don't care. It's such a blessing to watch them grow.

Friday Nights

So these are pictures to show everyone that we do have a life outside of our children...we hang out with other people's children! Matt and I are so blessed to have the Del Rio Bible teens come hang out with us on Friday nights (for Biblestudy not just cause we're cool). So I snapped a few pictures...only got about a quarter of our group in the picture but oh well. And yes the one in the neon pink shirt is my brother Chris! :) And finally, a picture of Matt for those of you who've yet to meet my one and only love.

Brotherly Love

Just wanted to share some brotherly love with y'all today. Could this be the first step to brotherly wrestling! Kaden is such an awesome big brother...what a blessing to have two such awesome children.

Holding my own

Well we had another first today. Caleb started holding his own toy...granted I had to put it in his fingers, but once it was there he held onto it and got it into his mouth! Yeah...progress is so exciting. And these pictures were at least taken while he was happy, the rest of this afternoon has been very very fussy...perhaps teething already!

My Little Lion

So Kaden had to go potty, and I hear, "Mommy, I need my potty seat"...my response, "I'll be there in a minute". Next thing I hear is "Roar!" I'm a lion!" So I turn around and there's Kaden with the potty seat on his head! Not very sanitary, but so cute!

My "Little" brothers

Ok, so for those of you who know Chris and Jeremy I wanted to put some pictures up for you. I took theses tonight at a church dinner which explains the background. The pictures don't give you an accurate perception of how tall they are. Chris, who turned 18 today, is 6ft 3in and Jeremy is 6ft almost 4in tall! My little brothers aren't so little anymore! :) They are great boys and I love them so much, I'm so grateful that the Lord has let us live close to them for a while. Ok, enough mushiness. Oh by the way, Chris is the one standing up and Jeremy is the one holding Caleb and my mom is sitting next to them.

Who's who

Ok so the pictures didn't turn out as well as I hoped but I wanted to compare Kaden and Caleb at roughly the same age wearing the same shirt...so see if you can tell who is who!

And just for fun here's the boys before heading out the door for church today...which by the way for those of you who know my brother Chris...he turned 18 today! I'll see if I can't snap some pictures of him too...so check back later!

Caleb is 3 months old!!!

Well, we've had two kids for three months and we've loved every minute of it! Just wanted to put on some three month pictures of Caleb...which by the way aren't too different then the pictures of him last night! :) He' s had a very busy day. We spent five plus hours shopping for bedding and paint for a service project our highschool group is doing on Saturday...not fun for me since I"m not a big fan of shopping! But Caleb was a trooper. Kaden got to go to Grandma's to watch cartoons and to his buddy Owen's house to play. So he had a good day...he even got to skip nap. Which is good for me since the boys should go to bed early so I can go grocery shopping tonight...yeah! :( Other then that, the big news is it's cold! Well, Cold for Del Rio. It's in the 50's! To cold for me. All right...it's time for dinner...so to whoever is reading this Jesus loves you and have a good night!

Now I'm having too much fun...

Ok...so this may become addicting! I snapped a couple pictures of the boys on the couch this evening. I asked Kaden to jump up on the couch so that Caleb wouldn't be scared while I vacuumed. I looked over and Kaden was "playing" with Caleb. They're just too cute together. And Kaden often tells me that he is the best big brother in the whole world! :) I hope Caleb agres when he gets older! Ok...enough for tonight...there will be more tomorrow cause Caleb will be three months old!
