I feel like I need to make a confession. We decorated the house...inside and out for Christmas today! This goes against everything I"ve ever said I'd do cause I love Thanksgiving and hate when it gets run over by Christmas, but still with this month going to be as busy as it is this was the only weekend we could do it. So we are in full Christmas mode at our house! Caleb has done preety well so far...he's only touched the ornaments about a hundred times so not to bad :) The cutest thing he's doing is singing Happy Birthday every time he sees the lights. He sings Happy Birthday outside at the lights and inside to the tree. We just keep telling him it's Jesus' Birthday so he can sing all he wants. What's really funny is when he's done singing he tries to blow the lights out! :)
I also wanted to say ONLY ONE WEEK TO THE MARATHON! Ahhhh...I'm getting so excited. This is a really slow week for running so I'll have to try hard not to do more then scheduled. It's just so hard to believe it's finally here. Any last week advice Jody?
Well, I hope you all had a good weekend and are enjoying the rest of your fall/Christmas whatever you may be celebrating! :)

The only advice I have is....
1. don't run more than is scheduled. You might feeling like you're messing things up, and that you NEED to be running. But don't. Your body will thank you on race day.
2. get plenty of sleep. If your race is Sunday, go to be early on Thurs and Fri as you won't get a wink of sleep on Saturday.
3. Talk it up! I'm sure friends and family are sick of hearing about your marathon, but so what!? This is a HUGE accomplishment, you deserve to talk nonstop.
4. If there's an expo make sure you go, and bring $$!! :o)
5. Now is not the time to try something different, both clothing wise and food wise. Stick with what you've been doing.
6. Get to the race site plenty early and get in line for the porta john. Once you've done that, get back in line and do it again. Continue this until the race starts.
7. Have a check list for the day of and lay out your clothes, watch, shoes, bib number, pins.... the night before. Put your chip on the night before, so you don't forget it!
Most importantly, RELAX. Savor each moment. When you see friends along the race course, swing by and say "hey" ~ Try to remember each mile. I don't know if you have a certain time in mind, if you do, that's great. If it takes you longer than you hoped, don't worry. Not many people care about your time, they're just excited that you finished, and want to know what the experience was like. You want to experience the race, not just run the race.
Sorry 'bout the book! LOL!! Can you tell how excited I am for you!? I can't wait to hear ALL about it!!!
Oh, and you decorated already!??! That's awesome!! We decorate the day after Thanksgiving, and I can't wait for Thanksgiving to be over. I'm more excited about decorating the next day than I am about Thanksgiving. LOL!!
Decorated how fun, i have begged and begged but Cody won't let me until the day after thanksgiving he takes all the fun out of my life. That is way cute about caleb singing and blowing the lights out.
Keep me posted on the race. love you
Jody, Thank you so so so so SO much your advice is awesome! I'm going to read and reread it everyday until the race! :) Especially the one about not running more then scheduled. I've really been struggeling with running so little, so your advice just confirms what I know I should do! And I wouldn't have thought about getting extra sleep two nights before so that is great advice...well it was all awesome advice! THank you so so so much. I can't wait to tell you how it goes! Thank you!!!
Yay for you Michelle! One more week! You're going to do great! I'm looking forward to a full report after you finish!
I am fighting the urge right now to pull my Christmas stuff out. I'm tempted too because we have several holiday parties and things happening at our house starting the week after Thanksgiving. I'm worried that I won't have enough time to get everything out (and looking good) in time. But since we're having Thanksgiving at our house, I figure it's just not right to have it decorated for Christmas! You should post pics of your decorations so we can live vicariously through!
